Best of 2008
Pizza
You’ll wonder if NAPOLI PIZZERIA didn’t bring their pizza straight from Italy. (Also with locations in Benicia and Vacaville.) -

94 Champ Really, really excellent good old fashion pizza. When I compare it to other pizza places I must give this place 5 stars. The restaurant is comfortable with booths, and a down home atmosphere. - 94 Champ

The pizza is simply the best. They are very generous with the toppings, the sauce is thick, and the dough is perfect. I love dipping it in ranch dressing. They have some good pastas but the pizza and the friendly service are the reasons to go. -

WOW! Unbelievable! Terrific service over the phone and went to pick up the pizza and ended up buying more stuff, quick service and very friendly staff! I liked it and the pizza was outstanding!!

vallejowattsBar none! The best pizza around! Tony and his crew are the next best thing to being in New York, or Naples Italy . Always fresh, never skimps on toppings, always made fresh right in front of you. - vallejowatts

Kari L. The food at Napoli Pizzeria & Italian Food is incredible. Some friends of mine and I ordered takeout. We ordered ravioli and meatballs. Each bite was full of flavor, it was magnificent. - Kari L.

I love everything about this place!! It's on the cusp of Vallejo's historical district, very close to the waterfront, and has that traditional family pizza parlor atmosphere and decor. Another heads-up: lots of off street parking right next door! We've only had the pizza, although there's lots of Italian fare to choose from off the menu. But the pizza is this place's signature trademark... YUM!! If you're in the mood for beer, they have pitchers and the "mini-pitcher" (equivalent to about 3 bar-size glasses of beer) and a vintage table-top Pac-Man video game. Great family place!!

I've been eating here since the early 80's. I've met Antonio (Tony) G, the original owner, his sons and most of the wait staff. They are truly awesome people.

The food...can't say enough about the food. I go at least once every couple of weeks when I'm in town. I would compare their pizza to any and all pizza places I've been to (San Francisco, Seattle, Philadelphia, New York) and I'll tell you that this is the place that I'd recommend for pizza in Vallejo.

Jane A. We had lunch here two Saturdays ago. They have a parking lot. The restaurant is typical for a family run pizza place, nice booths, open kitchen, and did I mention the Ms Pac Man table game?

We walked in and as I started up at the pizza pans stuck above the kitchen to let everyone know how small a small is...a tear came to my eye...it was like being back on the east coast. The waitress finally told us we could sit anywhere - she must have seen the dazed look in my eye. We sat down ordered a medium pizza, salad, and a half ravioli to share as an appetizer.

One star because the salad had tons of stuff in it even salami and they gave us garlic bread to go with our half ravioli (and I am not talking about a wedge I am talking several 6*2 slices of garlic bread)

One star for the pizza which was great and still good cold the next day

Two stars for the ravioli which was prepared perfectly! It was not rubbery but soft and the pasta skin was light and allowed you to taste the filling which was heavenly! It was the best ravioli I have had in a long time! I dreamed about the goodness of this ravioli for the entire week after.

I had to go back and have more!!

Also our waitress was refilled our drinks almost as she was reading my mind. She was great and added to this wonderful meal. She gets five stars for stellar service!! But I can only give five stars total...

While eating we saw people greet each other, some had gone to high school with each other and sat down together for a meal, families trickled in and kids were fighting over Ms Pac Man. It was wonderful. Yet another Vallejo find! - Jane A.

C.K. from Petaluma, CA Great Pizza, warm service, and always satisfying
They still make a really, really good Pizza. Reminds me of a good Chicago or New York pizza--far from the product of the chains. The sauce, crust, cheese and toppings are all nearly perfect. We have to call our order in advance to have time to make from our work place in Southern Napa and back within our lunch hour, but always well worth the effort. - C.K. from Petaluma, CA

I always have high expectations for a new pizza place.  I hope, beyond hope, that this will be the one, the place that has good NY style pizza...After an afternoon at Six Flags, we decided to stop for dinner.  I whipped my Treo and looked for a place on Yelp, of course.  Reviews looked good, so off we went in search of Napoli.

We found it easily, and parked in the side lot.  There were a good amount of cars in the lot, and only a few open tables as we walked in.
I was greeted by a "ey, ow you doin'?', another good sign.  You see, the pizzamen of Napoli are ...real live Italians!

The pizza arrived and to our great surprise, did not disappoint.  I would have liked the crust a tad more done, but that's easily remedied next visit...

So, why the 5 star rating?  Simply put, the pizza.  It's as close to my beloved NY pizza as I've found.  While I'm not sure I would drive here from Walnut Creek just to pick up a pie, I may have to find more reasons to come to Vallejo.

If you live within 1/2 hour of here, or just want to try a really good NY style pizza, this is the place to go.  If they were in Berkeley or SF, the line would be out the door.

24 hours later, I just ate the last slice from the leftovers, and I actually gazed up at the clock to see if I could make it up to Vallejo by 11PM and get some more. -

Verrrrry delicious.  I ordered a 12" healthy pizza to go with garlic bread.  The crust of the pizza is soft, but gives a crunch.  Yummy mozzarella cheese, artichokes, and fresh tomatoes -- a perfect combination.  I would definitely order this again. -
